Variety description: Pinnate foliage similar to the species type but bright yellow in spring then greenish-yellow in summer. This is a fast growing tree that will put on 4-6′ of new growth per year once established. This cultivar was found in the Willem Jansen nursery in Holland in 1935, and named after the province of Friesland.
Height and Spread at Maturity: 30’+ tall and 30’+ wide.
Site requirements: Best in full sun. It is very adaptable to both dry and moist locations, and not fussy about soil type.
Hardiness: USDA zones 4-9.
