Notable characteristics: One of the spectacular early lutea hybrid peonies from the famed Lemoine nursery in Nancy, France. This 1926 introduction has blossoms in a unique tone of reddish coral orange unlike any other peony in our collection. A late season bloomer, with a plant habit similar to the French hybrid tree peony ‘Souvenir de Maxime Cornu.’ The plant is vigorous but the flowers are borne on rather weak stems which make them a challenge to properly appreciate it in the landscape. Like other large double tree peonies, this cultivar is an excellent choice for display as a cut flower, floating in a bowl.
