Variety description: A spectacular native shrub with a magnificent late spring to early summer floral display. This broad, mounding shrub spreads by stolons to colonize a large area. Leaves are composed of several 3-8” long leaflets which turn a rich butter yellow in the fall. Bottlebrush shaped inflorescences are held upright and are prolific.
Ideal for understory woodland plantings or as a large mass in a shrub border.
Site requirements: Full sun location or shade. Not overly picky about soil type, but prefers moist, well drained soil.
Size at maturity: 8-12′ high and 8-15′ wide.
Hardiness: USDA zones 4-8.
Plant size: 2 year old seedling, 12” tall with a well developed root system.
